Privacy Policy

When you support a child or project with Sonshine Ministries International we collect personal and organizational information such as: name, address, email address, phone number, credit card number, etc. We collect this information so that we can process children’s sponsorships, project donations and ministry contributions.
Donors fill out an online form, which our service staff reviews. We may contact a donor to verify information. The children sponsorships, project donations, and ministry contributions are processed through a credit card processing company. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Sonshine Ministries takes every precaution to protect donor information. When donors submit sensitive information via our web site, their information is protected both online and off-line. We do not share donor information for any purpose.

Refund Policy

If requested, Sonshine Ministries International (SMI) will refund any donation that has not been dispersed to the child, project or ministry. We normally disperse donated funds once a month.
Please note that legally, all donations received by SMI become the property of SMI. The IRS has determined that for a donation to be tax-deductible it must be given to a non-profit organization and that organization must control the funds after they are donated.
SMI is dedicated to ensuring that the funds given for a specific child or project will be used for that child or project; however, by law, SMI legally reserves the right to apply all donated funds wherever it is determined necessary at the discretion of the board of directors.

Changing or Canceling Your Monthly Child Sponsorship

If a donor selects "I want to make a recurring donation", you will be registering to make a credit card donation every month or year. After you complete this initial donation, future donations will be made automatically. You will receive an email receipt from Sonshine Ministries International for each recurring donation.
If you decide to change or discontinue your donation options we would appreciate hearing from you before you finalize this decision. You can e-mail us at info@sonshineministry.com or phone us at (800) 915-0939. Please include your name, project or sponsored child’s name and date of change or cancellation. Once we hear from you we will quickly change or cancel your monthly commitment.

Nonprofit IRS 501c3 Status

Sonshine Ministries International is recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 Non-Profit Corporation registered in the state of Oregon. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law, less the value of any goods or services received. If you have any questions about the deductibility of your donations, please contact your tax advisor.

Donation Receipts

You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your donation that can be used for tax receipt purposes. However, we will also issue a summary of all donations received from you for the year in January of the following year.
